Posted by Bob on August 26, 2005: Hey gang. New comic is up. I think the best thing about this entire comic is the "hit the game store" panel. I'd number it, but this one is laid out strange, so I don't know the number I'd use. Five, maybe? Anyhow, I like how it turned out. It's another example of Steve writing something simple and me making it look like the customer is going to be murdered. So, I'm gonna mention who the mystery person is in the next paragraph, so you may want to read the comic first.
Ready?
Yes, the mystery Retail Avenger has been Jessie all along. Shocking, huh? She's not going through another hairstyle or anything, don't worry. I just had to tie it up so it didn't stick out the bottom of the mask she was wearing. That hair color isn't usually naturally occurring in our world, so it would have been a little obvious, no? Although, to be fair, I suppose you could have sampled the mystery Retail Avenger's skin color and then compared it to Jessie's and figured it out, but the only person who would have done something like that is, well, me, and I knew who it was anyhow, so that would have just been a big waste of time. And as to why Bob didn't recognize her voice, well, she does a different voice as the RA then she does as Jessie, of course. As does Bob when he's RA, Parker as Spidey, Bruce as Batman. It's on the first page of the superhero handbook, man!
Well my friends, first, today we have this, which, I have to tell you is *almost* as good as the incredible "LIGHTNING BOLT!" video. For real. I love this stuff. What the hell does that say about me? Maybe I don't really want to know.
I'm relatively sure I posted this before, but it always makes me laugh. Never hurts to watch someone smash their truck into a pole because they're being stupid. Well, provided that it's not me smashing my truck. If I had one. Which I don't.
Someone really likes Paperboy a lot. I dunno, this might be better if it weren't just some dude sitting there doing nothing for a while. Although, maybe that's the joke. Maybe some random dude just rolled down the street and encountered all this, and sat there confused as to what was going on. If that's the case, then this is pretty good. Otherwise, it just goes into the "what could have been" files until I get more information.
Here's some neat mosaics. What makes 'em cool is that they're made of apples, not like, tiles or anything. I just hope they didn't all go to waste. I love apples, (kinda funny, no?) and it'd be a shame if someone just threw them all away.
(I flat out stole the link text from the site.) On September 7th, 2003, President Bush announced on national television that he was asking the Congress to grant him an additional $87 billion dollars for the fiscal year, beginning October 1, 2004, to continue the fight on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. But $87 billion is an impossibly high number for anyone to visualize. Let's have a look.... This site is pretty neat. I never thought to myself how much room that much money would actually occupy.
Here's some info on the upcoming Batman Begins DVD if you are so inclined. I'm all over this one. I don't buy many DVD's anymore, but I will be there the day this comes out and it will be mine.
And finally, we have Hog City. It's Sin City meets Family Guy. Nothing terribly special, but there's some good Family Guy quotes in there. Back in a week folks.
